In that, Darkest Dungeon differs from the traditional roguelike. Natural selection is in full force in Darkest Dungeon. If you hold on too tight, you will eventually go broke, with only a weak party to show for it. Your party members will inevitably run afoul of the RNG gods and perish, or they will go mad and you'll have to cut them loose.

Learning to accept death as a setback and not total failure is the first step on the road to success in Red Hook Studios' new roguelike, which left Early Access earlier this week. There's a long road ahead, and it will be paved with the bones of your party members. The first time you lose a character in Darkest Dungeon, you will feel a powerful urge to start a new game.
